Diddy Sentenced to 50 Months
On Oct. 3, 2025, a federal judge, Arun Subramanian, sentenced Sean “Diddy” Combs to 50 months in prison after his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution; he was acquitted of sex‑trafficking and racketeering charges. The punishment also includes five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine, and with credit for time already served since his September 2024 arrest Combs could be released in under three years. Subramanian rejected the defense's portrayal of the conduct as consensual, rebuking Combs for subjecting two former girlfriends—singer Cassie Ventura and a woman identified as “Jane”—to years of abuse and saying he hoped the sentence would send a message to abusers. Combs delivered tearful apologies in court to Ventura and the other woman while family members spoke in his defense; prosecutors had sought more than 11 years and his lawyers had urged about 14 months. Ventura, through lawyer Doug Wigdor, said the sentence recognizes the impact of Combs’s offenses and affirmed her continued healing. The case grew out of accusations and civil suits over the use of paid sex workers at so‑called “freak‑offs,” recorded sexual performances and alleged coercion, triggering a high‑profile federal probe and trial that have severely damaged Combs’ public image and business interests.
