Star Trek Comics Bring Captain Kirk Back Following Galaxy-Wide Disaster

IDW Publishing is reviving William Shatner's Captain James T. Kirk in a new comic series titled Star Trek: The Last Starship, set to debut in September. The story takes place during the aftermath of The Burn, a catastrophic event in the 31st century that destroyed all active warp cores and killed trillions, plunging the United Federation of Planets into chaos. Kirk is mysteriously resurrected in this dark era to lead a new crew and uphold Starfleet's mission of unity amidst a lawless galaxy.
