Lansing Woman Charged After Shooting Man In Face

Ashley McKinstry, a 41-year-old Lansing woman, has been charged with assault with intent to murder and felony firearm after shooting a 44-year-old Lansing man in the face near Wood Street and Sam’s Way in Lansing Township. The incident occurred on the evening of September 9, and the man underwent emergency surgery but is expected to survive. Police arrested McKinstry at the scene and recovered two firearms. Authorities believe the victim and McKinstry know each other, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. McKinstry's bond was set at $75,000, and she is scheduled for a probable cause conference on September 23.
