Man Arrested After LA City Hall Crash

A vehicle crashed onto the steps of Los Angeles City Hall shortly after 4 p.m. Friday, prompting closures of surrounding streets and freeway off-ramps and the evacuation of City Hall and a nearby park. The driver, described as an older man with long gray hair, remained inside a black sedan on the steps for about two hours while LAPD, SWAT and bomb‑squad personnel — using drones, a bomb‑sniffing dog and helicopter support — made contact. Helicopter footage and eyewitnesses showed two handwritten signs on the dashboard pleading to former President Trump and an oxygen tank in the passenger seat. Officers took the man into custody after roughly two hours and searched the vehicle; no injuries were reported. Authorities said it was unclear whether the crash was intentional and the investigation remains ongoing.
