US Envoy Kellogg Outlines Ukraine-Russia Ceasefire, Reintegration Plan

Keith Kellogg, US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, has expressed optimism about the prospects for peace in the Ukraine conflict following a review of peace proposals from both Kyiv and Moscow. Kellogg explained that his team combined the Ukrainian and Russian draft memorandums to identify a potential 'end state' for peace, which centers on a comprehensive ceasefire based on current territorial positions. Key elements of a sustainable ceasefire include the return of children and prisoners, as well as efforts to reintegrate Russia into the international community, likened to a modern 'League of Nations.' While Ukraine and the US insist on an unconditional ceasefire, Moscow's terms include territorial recognition, neutrality, and restrictions on Ukraine's military alliances, which Ukraine rejects. Kellogg highlighted the severe human cost of the conflict, estimating over 1.2 million casualties, and praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his leadership, noting the unprecedented challenges he faces.
