Multiple Former Police Officers Sentenced for Child Exploitation Offenses Across US, UK

Several law enforcement officers and former officers in the UK and the US have been sentenced for offenses involving indecent images of children and sexual exploitation of minors. Timothy Gresswell, a former Oxford newsagent, received a suspended sentence for downloading over 1,500 indecent images, including some depicting extreme youth. PC Jody Lathwell of Northampton was jailed with a suspended sentence and dismissed from the police force after sending sexually explicit communications to someone he believed to be a member of the public. David Seccull in Warwickshire was sentenced to over three years in prison for making and distributing indecent images while already a managed sex offender. Carmine Simpson, a former NYPD officer, was sentenced to 23 years for sexually exploiting minors online, including coercing children into sending nude images and self-harm. John Bramwell, a former Devon and Cornwall police sergeant, received conditional discharges and a sexual harm prevention order after pleading guilty to possessing indecent images of children.
