Rangers Place Mahle on IL, Recall Rocker for Rotation
The Texas Rangers have placed right-handed pitcher Tyler Mahle on the 15-day injured list retroactive to June 12 due to fatigue in his throwing shoulder. Mahle, who has been effective this season with a 6-3 record and a 2.34 ERA over 14 starts, showed signs of shoulder discomfort during his last outing. To fill his rotation spot, the Rangers called up right-hander Kumar Rocker from Triple-A Round Rock, who is scheduled to start against the Chicago White Sox. Rocker has struggled this season with a 1-4 record and an 8.87 ERA in six starts but returns to the majors after a recent demotion. Mahle's shoulder issues have coincided with some regression in performance, although his overall season metrics remain strong. The Rangers continue to manage their rotation carefully amid these injury concerns to maintain their strong performance in the 2025 MLB season.
