ASML, imec Partner for Sustainable Semiconductor Innovation

ASML and imec have entered a five-year strategic partnership to advance semiconductor research and sustainability. This collaboration will leverage ASML's comprehensive product portfolio, including 0.55 NA EUV and DUV technologies, to develop high-end nodes installed at imec's NanoIC pilot line. The partnership, supported by substantial EU and private investments, aims to enhance research in silicon photonics, memory, and packaging, offering innovative solutions for AI applications. ASML, the sole supplier of EUV lithography machines, and imec will focus on sustainable innovation to address the semiconductor industry's challenges. The agreement also seeks to expand capabilities for sub-2nm chip R&D, crucial for future technological advancements. This initiative is part of the broader European Chips Act, aimed at strengthening the semiconductor ecosystem in Europe.
