Maryland Police Arrest Man With Multiple Firearms, Body Armor At Arundel Mills Mall

On September 11, 2025, Anne Arundel County Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle at Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover and found a blue 2016 Ford Explorer unoccupied with a semi-automatic rifle visibly placed in the open trunk. The vehicle belonged to 56-year-old Robert Arthur Muschette of Upper Marlboro, who was later located and detained. A thorough search of the SUV uncovered multiple firearms, including two stolen handguns and an AM-15 semi-automatic rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, four loaded magazines, and two sets of body armor—one marked "Special Police." Muschette, who is legally prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested and charged with multiple weapons violations. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind his possession of this arsenal. This incident highlights ongoing law enforcement efforts to curb illegal gun possession in the region.
