Skechers Debuts Kids' Shoes With AirTag Tracking

Skechers has introduced 'Find My Skechers,' a new line of kids’ sneakers with a screw-secured compartment in the sole for holding an Apple AirTag, enabling parents to discreetly track their child's location through Apple's Find My app. The shoes are designed for toddlers to children up to around ten years old, offering comfort and no visible indication of tracking hardware. Location tracking depends on nearby Apple devices relaying Bluetooth signals, as AirTags are not GPS trackers and require network connectivity. Privacy advocates have raised concerns about potential misuse, but Skechers emphasizes the product is intended for child safety and shoe tracking. Apple does not officially endorse the use of AirTags for tracking people and has implemented anti-stalking features that alert users to unknown AirTags traveling with them.
