Orville Peck Releases 'Drift Away' Ahead of Appaloosa EP, Hosts 7th Annual Rodeo
Orville Peck, the masked country music star known for blending outlaw country, indie rock, and queer Americana, has announced the release of his new EP titled "Appaloosa," set for November 14 via Warner Records. The announcement comes with the release of the single "Drift Away," a nostalgic and reflective anthem capturing small-town ennui in the post-pandemic era, emphasizing themes of acceptance and letting go rather than escape. The EP features seven tracks, including a collaboration with Noah Cyrus on "Atchafalaya," continuing their recent musical partnership. Peck will also host his 7th Annual Rodeo festival from November 14-16 in Pioneertown, California, at Pappy & Harriet's, featuring performances by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Joy Oladokun, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Allison Russell, and others, with Peck headlining each night and playing different sets daily. Beyond music, Peck recently made his Broadway debut as the Emcee in "Cabaret" and wrapped filming for the 2026 "Street Fighter" movie, in which he portrays the masked assassin Vega. His recent projects, including the duets album "Stampede" and collaborations with artists like Kesha and Noah Cyrus, demonstrate his continuous evolution and boundary-pushing within modern country music.
