Washington, D.C. to Host 2027 NFL Draft

Washington, D.C. is set to host the 2027 NFL Draft, with an official announcement expected Monday at the White House involving President Donald Trump, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and Commanders owner Josh Harris. The event will take place at the National Mall, marking the first time the iconic venue will host the draft, and the first time D.C. has hosted the event since 1941. The decision follows the Commanders' plans to return to D.C. and build a new $3.7 billion stadium at the old RFK Stadium site, pending D.C. Council approval. The Commanders have experienced a resurgence under new ownership and quarterback Jayden Daniels, recently reaching the NFC championship game. The NFL’s move signals renewed confidence in the franchise and D.C.'s status as a sports capital. Pittsburgh will host the 2026 draft, and Denver was also considered for the 2027 event.
