Formula One's planned switch to 100% sustainable fuel from the 2026 season is proving significantly more expensive than anticipated, according to Mercedes team chief Toto Wolff. Wolff highlighted that the need for a fully green supply chain and the specific ingredients required are driving up costs, prompting discussions on potential regulatory changes to make the transition more financially viable. Mercedes' fuel partner Petronas remains committed to the technical side but is also examining ways to reduce expenses.
