Trump Praises Bari Weiss After Skydance Takeover

A 60 Minutes interview aired after being taped Oct. 31 at President Trump’s Mar‑a‑Lago resort, in which Trump praised Skydance/Paramount’s takeover of CBS and the appointment of Bari Weiss as editor‑in‑chief. Speaking with Norah O’Donnell, he reiterated his claim that 60 Minutes deceptively edited a 2024 Kamala Harris interview and noted CBS settled his lawsuit for $16 million, saying they 'paid me a lotta money.' The interview, his first with CBS in years, also covered possible future campaigns and national policy issues. Weiss’s hire and other moves under new ownership — including an ombudsman hire, workforce memos and anchor departures — have drawn staff complaints and outside scrutiny, and the settlement came weeks before Skydance’s acquisition won FCC approval and was widely viewed as removing an obstacle to that deal.
