Michigan, Ohio Gas Prices Drop Below $3

Gas prices have dropped significantly in both Michigan and Ohio over the past week, with Michigan's average falling 11 cents to $3.04 per gallon and similar declines reported in cities like Detroit, Flint, Columbus, and Dayton. Many drivers in these states are now paying less than $3 per gallon, reflecting a broader national trend of decreased prices. The national average remains steady around $3.10 to $3.15 per gallon, which is considerably lower than last year. Experts largely attribute the price drops to decreased oil prices but note that global tariffs and changing demand could influence future fluctuations. Despite the current relief at the pump, analysts warn that these lower prices may not last if market conditions change. About half of U.S. states have seen gas prices drop, while the other half have experienced increases.
