Woman Hospitalized After High-Rise Fire Evacuations in Dundee
A fire broke out in the communal area of a high-rise block of flats at Dudhope Court on St Mary Street in Dundee around 1 p.m. on Thursday, prompting the deployment of three fire appliances and a height appliance by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. One woman was taken to the hospital for treatment, though her condition has not been disclosed. Emergency services evacuated some properties, imposed road closures around Dudhope Terrace and St Mary Street, and advised residents to keep their windows and doors closed while the fire was being extinguished. The fire crews left the scene after ensuring the area was safe, around 3:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Road closures remained in place during the incident, and the public was urged to avoid the area. Police and fire authorities continue to monitor the situation in Dundee.
