Classic TV Memorabilia Sale Nets $3.17 Million

Heritage Auctions’ Television Treasures sale of the late Dr. Stewart Berkowitz’s collection realized $3.17 million. The Adam West Batman and Burt Ward Robin costumes sold together for $575,000, and Batman-related lots totaled $989,500, including Cesar Romero’s Joker ($212,000), Yvonne Craig’s Batgirl ($87,500), Julie Newmar’s Catwoman ($68,750) and Burgess Meredith’s Penguin ($46,250). Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman costume fetched $225,000. Other headline results included Fonzie’s leather jackets ($87,500 and $75,000) and William Shatner’s Star Trek uniforms ($62,500 and $52,500). Key props also commanded strong bids—a Batscanner console sold for $150,000 and a Batarang with holster for $50,000—and additional television relics added to the diverse haul; the sale was conducted through Heritage’s Trusts & Estates division and was widely described as a “love letter” to television’s golden age and a tribute to Berkowitz.
