Mass Stabbing on Train Near Huntingdon; Counterterror Probe
A mass stabbing aboard the London North Eastern Railway 6:25pm service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross near Huntingdon on Saturday evening left ten people hospitalized, nine with life‑threatening injuries and no reported deaths. British Transport Police declared a major incident after an emergency call shortly before 7:40pm, and armed Cambridgeshire officers arrested two men at Huntingdon station. One suspect was reportedly restrained with a taser after allegedly brandishing a large knife. Emergency response included multiple ambulances, critical care teams, armed officers and air ambulances, and passengers described chaotic, bloodied scenes onboard. Counter‑Terrorism Policing is supporting the investigation, and police have maintained cordons and service disruptions while they work to establish the motive; Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the incident “deeply concerning.”
