Four Arrested, Teen Charged After Serious Salford Disorder
Authorities responded to serious disorder in Salford where 50 to 60 people gathered, using cars and wheelie bins to block Lower Broughton Road and setting vehicles on fire. Riot police were deployed to control the situation, which involved throwing bricks at officers and erratic motorbike riding. Following the unrest, Greater Manchester Police arrested four males aged between 16 and 37 on suspicion of offenses including possession of bladed articles, theft, public order offenses, and possession of Class A drugs. A 16-year-old girl was charged with assaulting an emergency worker and has been released on bail pending court appearance. Police have imposed a dispersal order across Salford until June 12, 2025, and remain vigilant with robust plans to prevent further incidents. Investigations continue, and police urge anyone with information to come forward.
