Oklahoma Updates Vehicle Title Process After Feedback
Oklahoma has revised its vehicle titling process following the implementation of Senate Bill 836, which established electronic titles as the default starting July 1. In response to public feedback, residents without an active lien on their vehicles can now request a paper title either online or in person for the standard fee, with no extra charge if requested at the time of registration. The policy is designed to maintain the efficiency and security of digital titles while providing flexibility for those who prefer physical documents. Paper titles remain available for situations such as out-of-state sales or relocations. State officials, including Senator Chuck Hall and Service Oklahoma CEO Jay Doyle, highlighted that these adjustments were made to better accommodate the needs of Oklahomans. The revised system aims to streamline vehicle ownership while offering residents greater choice.
