Pedestrian, dog fatally struck by car in San Francisco's SoMa

A pedestrian and a dog were killed after being struck by a car in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. near Howard and 7th streets, where police found the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries and the dog already deceased. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital but did not survive. The driver remained at the scene, cooperated with authorities, and police stated that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.
