Wayne and Coleen Rooney were seen supporting their son Kai Rooney as he played for Manchester United's youth team in the 2025 Super Cup NI in Northern Ireland. Kai, 15, who scored a goal in a 3-0 win over West Cork Academy, has been praised by his father for handling the attention that comes with his famous surname and simply focusing on playing the game. The tournament, formerly known as the Milk Cup, is renowned for showcasing young football talent and holds special significance for Wayne, who played in it in 2000. Alongside Kai, the Rooneys' younger sons Kit, Cass, and Klay were also present to cheer him on. Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney, reflecting on Manchester United's current state, warned fans it would be naive to expect the club to challenge for the Premier League title immediately, emphasizing the need for a long-term rebuilding process despite some promising signs. Rooney's presence at the tournament was also notable for being alongside fellow Manchester United legend Michael Carrick, who was there to support his son Jacey.
