Burbank Gym Teacher Charged With Lewd Acts On Minor

Dimitri Altobar, a 33-year-old gym teacher at St. Francis Xavier School in Burbank, has been arrested and charged with five felony counts of lewd acts involving a minor under 14. The alleged offenses occurred between March 1 and April 28, and prosecutors accuse him of exploiting his position of trust at the school. Following a weeks-long investigation, Altobar was taken into custody on May 14 and has pleaded not guilty while being held without bail. St. Francis Xavier School placed him on administrative leave and confirmed he will not return to the school. Authorities continue to investigate and have urged anyone with information to contact the Burbank Police Department. Altobar's next court appearance is scheduled for late June.
