Air India Flight AI171 Black Boxes Recovered Ahmedabad Crash

Investigators have recovered the black boxes, including the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR), from the Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner that crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, marking a critical step in the investigation. Additionally, authorities recovered a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) from the wreckage, which is expected to provide visual evidence of the aircraft’s final moments and crew activity. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad are leading the probe, involving forensic teams and aviation experts to analyze the data from these devices. The Civil Aviation Ministry has ordered enhanced safety inspections of Air India's Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners equipped with General Electric GEnx engines, focusing on fuel, engine control, hydraulic, and takeoff parameters. The crash, which killed 241 people and damaged a medical college hostel, is being examined alongside pilot challenges during takeoff, including the rare occurrence of double engine failure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the lone surviving passenger, highlighting the tragedy’s national impact as recovery and identification efforts continue.
