Diana Ross Named Godmother for Royal Caribbean Icon-Class Star of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has named Motown legend Diana Ross as the godmother of its new Icon Class cruise ship, Star of the Seas, set to debut in August 2025. Ross, celebrated for her timeless music that has brought people together for decades, will participate in the traditional naming ceremony at the ship's AquaTheater, symbolizing safekeeping for the ship, crew, and passengers. The Star of the Seas, a sister ship to Icon of the Seas, will offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral, including stops at the acclaimed Perfect Day at CocoCay and Royal Beach Club Paradise Island. The ship features eight distinct neighborhoods with attractions such as the Category 6 waterpark, seven pools, more than 40 dining venues, and entertainment including "Back to the Future: The Musical." Royal Caribbean highlights the vessel as a revolutionary vacation experience combining beach retreats, resort escapes, and theme park adventures, emphasizing family-friendly fun.
