Three Men Arrested for Attempted Carjacking During Facebook Marketplace BMW Sale in Maryland

Three men—Julian Chase Rose, Prince Chukang, and Kendric Rock—were arrested in Gaithersburg, Maryland, after attempting an armed carjacking during an online sale arranged via Facebook Marketplace. The victim, who was selling a BMW, met the suspects at his home on July 22, where Rose and Chukang displayed handguns and demanded the car keys, causing the seller to flee. Rock arrived in a stolen 2019 Infiniti Q50, which the suspects used to escape but crashed shortly after, leading to their apprehension by police. Firearms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects at the scene. All three face charges including attempted armed carjacking and firearm-related offenses and are being held without bond. Montgomery County Police emphasize the use of designated safe exchange zones at police stations for online sales to enhance public safety.
