Ukraine convenes UN meeting after deadly Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih
In response to the deadly Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih that killed 20 civilians, including nine children, Ukraine has convened an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized the need for a strong international response to what he described as Russian atrocities, calling for firm condemnation and decisive action. The missile attack, which occurred on April 4, has been labeled the deadliest of the war for Kryvyi Rih, with over 60 additional people injured. Vigils and a three-day mourning period have been observed in the city, as local officials and residents mourn the victims. Sybiha reiterated that Russia must cease its attacks on civilians and respond to proposals for a ceasefire. The international community's engagement is deemed crucial in addressing the situation and promoting accountability for the violence.
