Adams County Man Identified Dead in Conewago Township Field
The Adams County Coroner's Office has identified a body found in Conewago Township as Matthew Meredith, a 41-year-old local resident. Meredith was discovered around 12:30 p.m. on June 11 by a farmer who was cutting brush near the 300 block of North Blettner Avenue. Meredith had been reported missing five days earlier after leaving a Hanover home without his phone or wallet, which was unusual behavior according to his family. The initial emergency call described a possible cardiac arrest, but the cause and manner of death remain undetermined pending an autopsy. Authorities, including the Conewago Township Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police, are actively investigating the circumstances of Meredith's death. Officials have stated there is no current threat to public safety as the investigation continues.
