Two Dead, Ten Injured in Family Dispute Shooting on Greek Island Crete
A shooting in the village of Vorizia on the Greek island of Crete resulted in the deaths of a 39-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman, with at least ten others injured. The incident, which occurred around 11 a.m., is believed to have been triggered by a long-standing family feud, a common cause of violence on the island. Prior to the shooting, a bomb explosion was reported at a nearby construction site, although no injuries resulted from the blast. Police have taken two injured men into custody for investigation regarding their involvement in the shooting. Greece's top police officials, including those specializing in organized crime, have been dispatched to Crete to assist with the investigation and to increase security in the village. The situation remains tense, with a significant police presence in Vorizia as authorities continue their inquiry.
