Netflix Orders Adam Driver Thriller Rabbit, Rabbit

Netflix has given a straight-to-series order to Rabbit, Rabbit, a hostage thriller that will star Adam Driver and marks his return to television since Girls; Driver will also serve as an executive producer. The series is created and written by Peter Craig and will be directed by Philip Barantini, with MRC TV producing alongside Craig’s Night Owl and Barantini’s It's All Made Up Productions. Executive producers include Driver, Craig, Barantini, Samantha Beddoe and Bryan Unkeless. Set at a truck stop in southern Illinois, the plot follows an escaped convict who takes hostages and turns the standoff into an escalating social experiment and an emotional 'poker match' with a veteran FBI negotiator trained in 'tactical empathy.' The project was won by Netflix after a competitive bidding process, has drawn comparisons to Dog Day Afternoon, and production is expected to begin next year though no release date has been announced.
