Prominent Lawyer's Son Charged After Ramming Two Police Officers in Mercedes, Officers Hospitalized in Pennsylvania

Dalton Janiczek, 21, the son of prominent Pennsylvania lawyer Lee Janiczek, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder of law enforcement officers, aggravated assault, and fleeing police after a violent incident on October 24. Police attempted to stop Janiczek for a traffic infraction, but he fled, crossing a median at high speed and later ramming his Mercedes G-Wagen into police vehicles in a parking lot near the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel in Plymouth Township. Janiczek allegedly accelerated toward an officer who had exited his patrol car, prompting the officer to fire, but Janiczek struck him multiple times with the vehicle as he lay injured. The incident ended when Janiczek collided head-on with another police car, injuring a second officer. Both officers were hospitalized; one underwent emergency surgery and both are in stable condition. Janiczek, a Loyola Marymount University student and former high school rowing captain, has a history of multiple traffic-related charges and is being held without bail pending further court appearances.
