Greyhound Bus-Dump Truck Crash Injures 12 in Greenville
A Greyhound bus traveling from Charlotte to Atlanta crashed into a dump truck on Interstate 85 near Woodruff Road in Greenville, South Carolina, shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday. Twelve people were injured, including the bus driver who sustained serious injuries and eleven passengers with minor injuries. The bus was carrying approximately 33 to 34 passengers at the time of the crash. Uninjured passengers were transported to their destinations by either a Greenlink or relief Greyhound bus. Authorities have reopened all interstate lanes after several hours of closure. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, with witness reports suggesting the bus driver may have fallen asleep, a claim not yet confirmed.
