Thunder Extend Points Record, Lead NBA Finals 3-2
The Oklahoma City Thunder set a new NBA record for most total points in a single season (regular season and playoffs combined), reaching 12,205 points and surpassing the 2018-19 Golden State Warriors. The record was extended following their 120-109 Game 5 win over the Indiana Pacers, which gave the Thunder a 3-2 lead in the NBA Finals. Jalen Williams scored 40 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed 31 points and 10 assists in the victory. The Thunder's historic season also includes a franchise-record 68 regular-season wins, elite defense, and strong turnover margin. Indiana's Pascal Siakam led his team with 28 points, but the Pacers' efforts were hindered by Tyrese Haliburton's injury issues. If the Thunder win the championship, they will join an exclusive group of teams with at least 84 total wins in a season.
