Libertarian Party Sues Colorado Secretary of State

The Libertarian Party of Colorado has filed a lawsuit against Secretary of State Jena Griswold and Deputy Secretary Christopher Beall, demanding the decommissioning of voting equipment and a hand count of ballots due to a breach involving the online disclosure of over 600 voting system passwords. Despite assurances from Griswold and Colorado Governor Jared Polis that the situation has been rectified and that no immediate threat to election security exists, the Libertarian Party argues that the delay in notification and response raises serious concerns about election integrity. The passwords were posted in a hidden tab on the Secretary of State's website and were accessible since at least June, with the breach becoming publicly known only after being highlighted by the Colorado Republican Party. The lawsuit employs a law enacted after a previous scandal, asserting that Griswold's actions warrant her removal from office. A court hearing is set for November 4, just before the upcoming election, as tensions rise regarding election security in Colorado.
