Body of missing Hinsdale man found in Ashuelot River

The body of Scott Plante, a Hinsdale, New Hampshire man who had been missing since mid-April, was recovered from the Ashuelot River by authorities on Monday. Surveillance footage showed Plante parking his car at Millstream Riverfront Park on April 17 and walking towards the river, after which he was not seen again. Multiple agencies, including New Hampshire Fish and Game and State Police, participated in extensive search efforts that covered the river and surrounding areas. Plante’s identity was preliminarily confirmed, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the official cause and manner of death. Police have indicated there is no danger to the public, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol.
