White Sox Make Multiple Roster Moves Amid Injuries

Chicago White Sox infielder Miguel Vargas was placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 2, due to a left oblique strain after being scratched from a game against the Los Angeles Angels. Vargas, acquired from the Dodgers in July 2024, is batting .229 with 13 home runs and 44 RBIs in 106 games this season. Lenyn Sosa filled in at first base during Vargas's absence, and Curtis Mead was called up from Triple-A Charlotte to provide additional depth at the position. Vargas is undergoing further evaluation with no set timeline for return, and the injury may keep him out longer than the minimum period.
