Flood Recovery Centers Open in Multiple States

Following recent severe flooding, multiple states have launched Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) to assist affected communities. Independence, Missouri has opened a multi-resource center offering housing, food, and mental health support, despite the absence of a federal disaster declaration and related aid. In Travis County, Texas, a multi-agency center is providing food, supplies, legal assistance, and access to FEMA and Small Business Administration representatives for those impacted by flash floods. Durham, North Carolina now hosts a Disaster Loan Outreach Center, helping residents apply for loans when insurance is insufficient. West Virginia continues to operate several FEMA-supported DRCs in Marion and Ohio counties, providing in-person aid on insurance, unemployment, and disaster loans. These centers are providing both immediate relief and ongoing support to flood victims as recovery efforts continue.
