Carrollton Police Officer Hospitalized After Being Hit Directing Traffic

A Carrollton police officer, Dustin Krish, was seriously injured while directing traffic near utility work on Highway 27 North near Ingles Market when he was struck by a gray SUV. The traffic signals were down due to power replacement work, prompting Krish to direct traffic at the intersection. He was wearing a high-visibility vest and was in the middle of the intersection at the time of the accident. Krish was airlifted to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta and remains in intensive care in serious but stable condition. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, with no charges filed yet as the Georgia State Patrol continues its investigation. Police have asked the public to avoid the area, which remains closed due to the incident.
