DFW Terminal F Doubles Size for American Airlines
American Airlines and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) have announced a $4 billion expansion of Terminal F, doubling its planned size to 31 gates exclusively for American. The project will provide expanded international flight capabilities, new lounges, premium spaces, a modernized check-in area, and a dedicated multi-level parking garage. The phased expansion is in response to rapid growth in North Texas, aiming to help DFW handle 100 million passengers annually by the decade's end and establish it as the world's largest single airline hub. The first phase of Terminal F is scheduled to open in 2027, with additional features to follow. The investment is the largest at DFW since Terminal D and extends American’s lease agreement through 2043. Both American and DFW leadership emphasize the expansion's importance for regional economic growth and the passenger experience.
