Surveillance Suggests Intent in Gage Park Hit-and-Run
A 22-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run early Saturday morning in Chicago's Gage Park neighborhood while using a crosswalk on the 5400 block of South Kedzie Avenue. At just before 3:30 a.m., a northbound gray vehicle ran a red light and struck the victim. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the car swerving toward the man as he tried to avoid it, raising the possibility that the collision was intentional. The driver fled the scene, and the man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No suspects are in custody, and police continue to investigate the incident.
