NC State Upsets No. 8 Georgia Tech 48-36

A redshirt freshman Duke Scott rushed for a career-best 196 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown with 4:07 left, and CJ Bailey passed for 340 yards with two touchdowns and added a rushing score as NC State stunned No. 8 Georgia Tech 48-36 in Raleigh. NC State piled up roughly 579–583 total yards and sealed the upset when Caden Fordham intercepted Haynes King's desperation pass on the final play, triggering a midfield storm. Georgia Tech's Haynes King still produced huge numbers, including more than 400 passing yards and 100+ rushing yards with multiple touchdowns, but red-zone miscues, defensive breakdowns and a missed kick left the Yellow Jackets settling for field goals. The loss drops Georgia Tech to 5-1 in ACC play, puts Virginia atop the conference, and complicates Georgia Tech’s ACC title and College Football Playoff hopes. It was NC State’s first win over a top-10 opponent in more than four years and further tightens an ACC race in which several teams now carry one conference loss.
