Missing Chicago Girl Found After Nearly Four Years, Mother Arrested

A little girl who was reported missing as an infant nearly four years ago has been found safe in Chicago, ending a lengthy search by authorities. The child, initially reported missing in November 2021 while in the care of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, was believed to be with her biological mother, who had multiple outstanding warrants across Illinois and California. Following a tip, Chicago police and U.S. Marshals focused on two residences in Chicago and Blue Island, where a girl matching the child's age was spotted peeking from a second-floor window. On June 3, 2025, law enforcement forced entry into the Chicago home, safely recovered the girl, and returned her to DCFS custody. The mother attempted to flee but was arrested on her outstanding warrants and taken to Cook County Jail. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the location or identities involved.
