Hasbro Plans Move from Pawtucket to Boston Seaport with 700 Jobs

Hasbro, the iconic Pawtucket-based toymaker, announced it will relocate its headquarters to Boston's Seaport District by the end of 2026, moving at least 700 full-time employees to a new 265,000 square-foot facility at 400 Summer Street. The move is part of Hasbro's strategy to accelerate innovation, attract top talent, and drive growth, aligning with its 'Playing to Win' plan. Massachusetts officials, including Governor Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, welcomed Hasbro to the state, emphasizing Massachusetts' strengths in education, healthcare, innovation, and quality of life. While the company will have no corporate footprint left in Rhode Island after the move, Hasbro pledged to maintain strong ties with the state, including continued support for Hasbro Children’s Hospital and local recruitment. Rhode Island officials expressed disappointment and concern over the loss, noting efforts to keep the company in Pawtucket were unsuccessful. The relocation reflects a broader trend of toy companies moving to Boston, with Hasbro joining LEGO in the city’s growing innovation and tech ecosystem.
