Despite concerns about AI-generated disinformation, Meta's safeguards effectively mitigated these risks by dismantling over 20 covert influence campaigns from Russia, Iran, and China and blocking nearly 600,000 attempts to create deepfake images of political figures. Nick Clegg, Meta's president of global affairs, emphasized the limited impact of AI on elections due to the company's proactive measures, including running election operations centers globally and updating content policies.
