Greek Stock Market Sees Significant Activity, Turnover Hits €385.5 Million
On Tuesday, the Greek stock market experienced a surge, with the benchmark index rising to a 14-year high of 1,705.16 points, fueled by a significant increase in trading activity following a technical glitch the previous day. Mid-cap stocks led the performance, gaining 1.04%, while the large-cap FTSE-25 index also saw an uptick of 0.46%. Notably, the banks index recorded a modest increase of 0.41%, driven by strong performances from Optima and Alpha banks, despite some losses among other major banks. Overall turnover reached €385.5 million, a substantial rise from €110 million on Monday. Meanwhile, the Cyprus Stock Exchange's general index also posted a gain of 1.73%, reflecting positive market sentiment in the region.
