Noah Wyle Wins First Emmy for HBO Max’s The Pitt
Noah Wyle won his first Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch in HBO Max's medical drama "The Pitt," more than 25 years after his last nomination for "ER." The show, praised for its authentic depiction of emergency medicine during a grueling 15-hour shift, earned 13 Emmy nominations and won five awards including Best Drama Series. Wyle, who also serves as a writer and executive producer on the series, dedicated his win to healthcare workers, highlighting the physical and emotional toll they face. The series was created by "ER" colleagues R. Scott Gemmill and John Wells and follows the frontline challenges faced by medical practitioners in a Pittsburgh trauma center. Wyle's victory came over notable competitors like Sterling K. Brown, Pedro Pascal, Gary Oldman, and Adam Scott. The second season of "The Pitt" is set to premiere in January.
