Toronto Sceptres Sign Elaine Chuli, Extend Spooner, Connors Contracts
The Toronto Sceptres have secured key players for the upcoming PWHL seasons, signaling strong ambitions to compete for the Walter Cup. Goaltender Elaine Chuli, a Toronto native and former PHF Goaltender of the Year, signed with the Sceptres after being drafted 78th overall, bringing consistency and championship experience to the team. Forward Maggie Connors also signed a one-year extension, continuing her role as a depth and energy player since joining the team in the inaugural draft. Additionally, Natalie Spooner, the PWHL’s first-ever MVP and a Toronto native, agreed to a two-year contract extension, despite missing part of the last season due to injury. Spooner has been instrumental to the Sceptres, leading the league in goals and points in 2024 and earning multiple international accolades. General Manager Gina Kingsbury expressed confidence that these signings will help build a competitive and community-connected team aiming to bring a championship to Toronto.
