UK Ambassador Mandelson Called Epstein 'Best Pal' in Released 2003 Letter
A letter allegedly written by Lord Peter Mandelson, the UK ambassador to the United States, to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein has surfaced in a "birthday book" compiled for Epstein's 50th birthday in 2003. In the letter, Mandelson describes Epstein as his "best pal" and refers to him as an "intelligent, sharp-witted man" who "parachuted" into his life, accompanied by photos of Mandelson with Epstein and others. The book, compiled by Epstein's ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell and released by US Democrats after being subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee, also contains alleged notes from other high-profile figures, including a disputed note attributed to US President Donald Trump. A spokesperson for Mandelson stated that he deeply regrets ever being introduced to Epstein and has been clear about this in the past. The documents highlight Epstein's extensive connections with powerful individuals, including Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump, and reveal the breadth of his social network prior to public allegations of sex abuse. While the British Embassy has not commented, Mandelson has previously expressed regret about his association with Epstein.
