Ozzy Osbourne Funeral Procession Draws Fans Birmingham

Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman and heavy metal legend, passed away at age 76 and will be honored with a funeral procession through his hometown of Birmingham on July 30. His hearse will travel along Broad Street, accompanied by a live brass band from Bostin' Brass, stopping at the Black Sabbath bridge and bench where fans have left tributes. The procession offers fans the chance to pay their respects and allows his family to see the outpouring of admiration before a private funeral. Birmingham’s Lord Mayor, Zafar Iqbal, described Osbourne as more than a music legend, calling him a 'son of Birmingham' who put the city on the map, and praised the Osbourne family for generously funding the event. The city council coordinated the event to ensure it is dignified and safe, with road closures and public transport diversions in place. Additionally, a petition has been launched to rename Birmingham International Airport after Osbourne, reflecting his cultural impact on the city.
