Norwich City Nears Appointment of Bristol City Manager Liam Manning

Norwich City is set to make an official approach to Bristol City for their manager Liam Manning, aiming to appoint him as their new head coach following the dismissal of Johannes Hoff Thorup. The club is expected to offer compensation around £800,000 to secure the move, with Manning reportedly keen on returning to his hometown, Norwich. Manning has a track record in the Championship, having led Bristol City to the play-offs this season, making him Norwich's top target after a comprehensive interview process that included other candidates such as Gary O’Neil and Pep Lijnders. Norwich’s sporting director Ben Knapper is leading the recruitment effort, with the club confident Manning is the right fit to improve their standing after finishing 13th in the league. Jack Wilshere, who served as caretaker manager after Thorup's departure, has left the club to pursue his own coaching career. Manning’s arrival would mark his third managerial role in two years, bringing experience from both English and Belgian football.
